  • Hello ASEDS 7th and 8th grade students!  This is the Social Forum where you can talk to one another "socially."  This is a forum that is not graded, but it is regulary read by your teachers.  Proper spelling, puctuation and grammar are encouraged and "IM-ing" acronyms and language is not permitted.  Words should be spelled out and you are to maintain your integrity and respect for others in all that you say.  The All Saints' Way is particularly crucial when you participate in this forum.

  • Welcome to the online discussion group for seventh and eighth grade Language Arts.  I hope this forum will be a place where you can share insights, ask questions, and discuss your ideas.  Before you do any posting, please read the first post titled "Guidelines for our discussion boards" in the Latest News forum on the right side of the screen.  Welcome!

  • Welcome to 8W!  This year you will be writing strong essays, reading everything from Shakespeare to Twain, and pleanty in between.  We will see a play, study the writing of Holocaust survivors, and write research papers.  You will build upon the grammar skills you have been learning and you will study vocabulary, participate on the Discussion Board, write in your journals, and have the opportunity to present your writing to the class.   This is going to be an amazing year for you!

  • In eighth grade Honors Language Arts, you will continue developing a number of skills from your seventh grade year, including the three and five-paragraph essay form, literary analysis, and polishing your writing mechanics. I am looking forward to seeing some familiar faces in my class, and getting acquainted with students that I never got a chance to teach. We will have a great year!
  • Hello 8D!  This year you will study the universal themes and recurring motifs as they are expressed in classical drama, the Romantic Era, and the contemporary novel and autobiography.  We will focus on critical thinking and the exploration of ideas common to a variety of cultures.  You will use your skills to write, think, speak, and debate complex and abstract situations and you will be challenged as you continue your mastery of writing, research, listening, speaking, analyzing, and discussing.  You will be engaged in the study of vocabulary, literature, journal writing, grammar, and the world of the online Discussion Board.  What we accomplish this year will amaze you!

  • Welcome back to all of you who will be in 7w. I am looking forward to working with each one of you and I know we will have an extremely productive and exciting year! We will be reading a lot, writing a lot, and sharing ideas. Let's get started!
  • Greetings to all 7O/R students!  This year you will be studying poetry, writing, novels, and short stories.  You will also study vocabulary words, grammar, journal writing, communication skills, research skills, and reading comprehension.  You will learn to participate in the online Discussion Board forum and I know you will find what we do is exciting and valuable!

  • I am very excited about teaching all of you next year. We are going to build on what you did last year, and soar to new heights! This course will be a bit different, with the addition of online discussion boards, Shakespeare, new vocabulary texts, etc. We are going to have a lot of fun, and learn a lot in the process. Welcome back!
